The One Day Way Review

The One Day Way, by Chantel Hobbs, is a book about Hobbs' theory on weight loss- that if you tackle it one day at a time, it will be easier and work better. She tells a little bit about her weight loss journey of losing 180 pounds, and tells the stories of a few others who followed her plan. She also includes a meal plan, some exercises, and inspiration.

Honestly, I didn't like this book. It was incredibly repetitious for the first (many) chapters- yes, one day at a time, I get it- and yet she contradicted herself a few times about this like setting goals- if tomorrow doesn't exist in her plan, how are you supposed to have goals to work towards? She also talks about how you need faith, but not necessarily religious faith, and yet then throughout the book it feels like she's trying to convert you to Christianity, and she keeps referring to how the reader believes in God. This really only seems like it would be a useful book if you need to completely change your life and lose 100+ pounds, which I don't. All I need is to lose baby weight from my pregnancy, and this book doesn't even address something like that. Overall, I would not recommend this book.

*I received this book for free from the WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

Happy Birthday!

Mike's birthday was yesterday, although it was the second day of his celebrations. Friday we just relaxed and played some games, and then last night we had his homemade birthday dinner, and cake with his family. On Thursday we will go ice skating, to a movie, and to his favorite place on Earth: Mongolian Grill.

I'm so glad that he was born, and am so lucky that our lives have been joined as they are. Enjoy these pictures from our years together:

I love you Mike!

Project #3

Office curtains are done! Probably, at least. I haven't decided if I'm going to make a ruffle at the top like I did with the bathroom valance. What do you think?

Please ignore the hideously mangled blinds, they are what made this project so necessary!
