When the Heart Cries by Cindy Woodsmall is the first of a series that leaves you wanting to finish all of it! Hannah Lapp knows who she loves, but she also knows that her father will be hard to convince that the match is good because the man does not belong to the Old Order Amish. Then something happens to Hannah that makes her question everything- her belief, her family, and whether or not she deserves to be loved. Her family is almost torn apart from jealousies, blame, grudges and shame, and everything is falling down around Hannah. Whether or not she will be able to fix things is not even concluded in this book, which is why you will want to read the rest of the series. This book is very interesting as you learn things about the Amish and Mennonite communities and what happens when unthinkable things happen in them. You come to really know and like (or dislike) the characters in the books, and while some of them are rather one dimensional, the main characters are definitely round. Really, try reading these books. Even if you think they sound lame and boring because they are about Amish, because that is what I thought at first. It is one of those things though, people are people, no matter the religion.
*I received this book for free from the WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

So did the other book drawing happen? Also, how did you score this gig? I love the idea of getting free books to read and review!
